In order to meet emissions standards, most diesel vehicles are fitted with a diesel particulate filter (DPF), catalytic converter (CAT) or exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). That’s fine when they’re fully functional, but all too often these systems fail.
Filter removal starts by physically removing or unplugging the part in question, depending on what type of system is installed. Once that has been done by a garage, we’ll reprogramme your vehicle’s ECU to essentially delete the previous system from its memory. This is slightly simpler for EGR deletes as the software delete permanently closes the valve from the inside, meaning no blanking plates are necessary.
Related fault codes can be permanently erased from the ECU memory, preventing EML lights further down the line. So, reprogramming will remedy your check engine light and make sure it doesn’t come on in future.
The process is usually completed within 1-2 hours, which is made even more convenient by our mobile technicians. Simply choose a date, time and location, and we’ll be there to get your diesel vehicle back to its best.
